Warren J. Wexelman, MD, or as he is also known, “The Rockdoc”, is a life-long Brooklynite and has been a practicing cardiologist in Brooklyn for over 30 years. At Maimonides Medical Center  he served as Associate Chief Medical Officer, Director of Clinical Therapeutics, and Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for 23 years. He was also the Founding Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation & Exercise Program. He ran the program for 16 years, and saw it become one of the nation’s largest academic cardiac rehabilitation programs.

Dr. Wexelman is presently on the faculty of the NYU Langone School of Medicine, and the President of the American Heart Association in Brooklyn. He has also been the Medical Director for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer  NYC since 2002.

Warren has extensive media experience with numerous appearances on CNN and Good Day NY, NBC and was a regular guest on The Fox series, “Fox on Health”.   Warren’s critically acclaimed radio show “Second Opinion” aired in New York City 1999-2001. In February of 2018, Dr. Wexelman teamed up with Bob Harper, the celebrity fitness guru who had suffered sudden cardiac death and a major heart attack while exercising the gym,for a national media tour.  The tour was covered by TV, radio and print as well as Facebook Live!

He appeared  as “himself” on the reality series “The Big Ang Show” & “The Mob Wives”.

Dr. Wexelman is a lifelong musician. His main instruments are  piano, keyboard, guitar and sax. He occasionally takes a break from mending hearts by playing gigs with his band “The Below Average White Band”. They played clubs all over New York and the tristate area.

His other passions are restoring classic cars, and enjoying great food!
