FJC is a uniquely welcoming, vibrant, and diverse synagogue community built around prayer, learning, celebration, mutual support, and connection. At a moment when so many people are searching for belonging and an uplifting congregation, we believe spaces like FJC matter more than ever.

For more than 100 years, generations of members have helped sustain this community and ensure that it remains a home for Jewish life in Brooklyn. Today, we are working to continue that legacy while building a space that is warm, open to all, and deeply rooted in caring for one another.

Membership helps sustain and support:

  • Weekly Shabbat services, holiday services, and holiday programming
  • Tot Shabbat and children’s programming
  • Middle & Big Kids’ Parshah Studies
  • Adult learning opportunities
  • Community meals, celebrations, and events
  • Discounts on synagogue meals, events, and programming
  • Discounts on Hebrew School tuition (Pre-K—5th grade: $2,200/nonmembers → $1,750/members)
  • A unique, multigenerational Jewish community rooted in connection and care

As a way of welcoming new members into the community, first-year memberships are offered at 50% of the standard membership commitment level. Our services always have been and will continue to be open to everyone, and we ask that you continue to journey with us and give as you are able. Membership dues are tax deductible.

We encourage members who are able to begin payments over the summer to help support synagogue operations and programming year-round. Beginning earlier can also lower monthly installment amounts by spreading contributions over additional months.
