PJ Library in New York is expanding the reach of our Parent Connector cohort for the coming year, and we’re excited to have Parent Connectors connect families with your organizations’ offerings in the neighborhood. We’re hoping our partners can help us by recommending their most engaged PJ Library parents from their communities to serve as Connectors this year.
Parent Connectors build and strengthen Jewish connections and friendships in their local neighborhoods on their own schedules. They host regular gatherings for families with children 0-5. These are as simple as playground meetups, stroller walks, coffee dates, or informal Shabbat meetups. We pay Connectors a stipend and provide an annual programming budget, marketing materials, professional development, and a cohort experience through the year. An average Connector works 15-20 hours per month for a $400 monthly stipend.
We are especially excited this year that we’re hiring affinity group Connectors for the first time. We’ve already signed on our first ever Grandparent Connector and are hoping to specifically support LGBTQ+ parents, single-parent families, Jews of Color, and/or language-based affinity group Connectors to engage their communities.
Do you have a parent who would be interested in being a neighborhood-based or affinity group Connector?
